Project Sussex Kids is the Sussex County Council for Young Children, an initiative of the New Jersey Department of Children and Families spearheaded by Project Self-Sufficiency. County Councils for Young Children are being established in all 21 New Jersey counties to bring together parents, caregivers, health, education and social service professionals to enhance communication, coordination and collaboration of services for children from prenatal through age eight.

haley Welcome to Project Sussex Kids! We are very excited to be offering such a valuable resource to the Sussex County Community! Our Parent Co-Chairpersons and Steering Committee are working hard to develop the Sussex County Council for Children, and we need your help. Work groups focused on topics such as Health & Wellness, Safety, Community Events, Education and other topics are currently in development. Join us to discuss the needs of your family and community.

The county will be divided into 6 regions – Newton area, Sussex area, Vernon area, Hopatcong area, Montague area, and Ogdensburg-Franklin area – with monthly day and evening meetings rotating through different sites in addition to a regularly scheduled meetings at the Project Self-Sufficiency campus.
